Deer eating from a bird feeder

This deer comes to our back yard, eats the bird seed and shows no fear. He was about 30 feet from me. I took photos of him a year ago and he was equally unafraid. I tried to tell him not to get too friendly with humans. For a deer, that can be bad for his health. He lives inside the city limits of this small town, hidden in wide swaths of forest.

Anybody know what kind of bird this is? I stopped the camera as the bird flew away. I realized the bird was flying away because a blue jay was dive bombing him/her. I was standing about 10-12 ft. away from the bird and the camera was at full zoom.
