    The Duncraft Champion Squirrel-Blocker

Platform Feeder is not squirrel proof feeder.

From the first day and every day squirrels enjoy

eating the seeds from this feeder. Included too

are chipmunks who enjoy eating from this feeder. It

seem like all the feeders I bought many that

    don’t block squirrels or chipmunks.

I have a feeder that only allow small

birds and -chipmunks- to feed in it.

I have many types of birds that visit

to my backyard. It would be nice to have a

feeder that will allow these other in.

    like to take pictures.

Buyers need to be aware that although this is advertised as squirrel “proof” it is only partly true. Squirrels who can access the platform can easily use their weight to slide the sunflower seed to the very edge of the platform and then persistently work at retrieving one. Although it is true that they can’t access the majority of seed due to the design of the grid, the fact that there is the potential to get a few seeds is enough to make this feeder attractive to squirrels. In my yard, birds rarely had the opportunity to get on the feeder although the chickadees and titmice loved it when it was not occupied by a persistent squirrel. There are better feeders out there that do truly keep squirrels not only off the feeder but unable to get seed. The only way this would work well is if you can mount it in such a way that squirrels cannot access the platform.

  3. One of the best bird feeders that I have purchased. It performs as advertised in preventing squirrel’s form enterning the feed area.

Well, this is a beautiful feeder, but the squirrels in my neighborhood were smart enough to figure out how to get in it.
