I have finally found a feeder that doesn't spill sugar water all over my deck when it gets windy. You still have to change out the food every 5-8 days to keep the mold away, but at least you can see the food inside it, and with the included wand-scrubber, cleaning is relatively easy.

It hold way more food than our hummingbirds will eat before it goes bad, but I love the lack of sugary mess on my deck!

(BTW, I got it for a lot cheaper than $28 at K-Mart)

Our hummingbirds like it, they took a few weeks to get used to it, but now they are there regularly. The brush included for cleaning is useless as a brush, but the steel rod is great as a way of adding extra length to the hanger. I took the cleaning foam off, and connected one end of the handle to the feeder, and looped the other through the hook... it works really well. I got some great photos of birds at the feeder.

This hummingbird feeder is quite eye pleasing. I bought it to hang just outside a window so that I could see the birds upclose. September was late in the season so attracting birds was mostly a wish, probably only now to be fulfilled next spring. I even tried placing red orchids on the opposite side of the window, but with no hummingbird eyes to see the combination was still very beautiful.
